Update to Blizzard Sign Up and Change to Webinar Schedule

Sign up for Blizzard is well underway. We have over 500 members for the season already and I suspect we will again be in the 750 member range similar to last year. While I don't like to cut off the membership at any point, we will most likely curtail our new adds as of Jan 1, 2020.

I've scheduled a group of webinars to enable new members to learn more about the club and for returning members as a refresh. Dates and times are posted in the last email accessible from the "More Info" drop down on the home page (it's the last item on the list.) The change to the schedule is a cancellation of the webinar for tonight, October 22nd. I apologize, but I can't get back to my computer system in time to host this webinar, so we will forego it.

The annual membership fee has  changed from last year, it is $140 for the first child. If you are renting from Viking, and I heartily recommend a seasonal rental over individual trip rentals, their $40 discount for Blizzard members expires on November 4th. The weekly trip fee remains constant at $85 (which includes the lift ticket, lesson, and bus trip. New members must be 8 years old by 3/31/2020.

Additional information on the location of new or additional bus stops is pending. The Lincoln Park stop, River Forest, Oak Brook, Palatine, Park Ridge, Skokie and Wilmette stops will remain the same. See the website for the complete list of stops and times. We expect to be able to continue to use the Lake Zurich stop until they start construction on the Kmart property. All other stops are in the air at the moment until we see where our members reside. I want to make the north shore stops more accessible if we can, and add two more northwest stops. Suggestions are appreciated (so are new members in the new locations.) To update this section we have a few new members in the Buffalo Grove Long Grove area, so we will look to move a stop closer to that area. Barrington, looks good, as well.

Last but not least, Supervisors. We need them. From all locations. I’d prefer those of you who can commit to at least 4 trips per season. There are only 3 or 4 people that have committed to every single trip and they are gold to me. I’d gladly welcome more. I will start webinar overviews of the club for those of you who need to hear more and want to ask questions in a group forum. The first one will be the first week of October.

I sent out a detailed letter on October 13th. You can read it by accessing the last link under the "More Info" tab on the homepage.  Please sign up for the mailing list using the pop-up window on the website or by completing an initial application. If you have questions, please check under the "More Info" tab on the website first before contacting me. I answer most questions in those sections.

If you need clothing or gear labels, we created a Blizzard fundraiser at:  campaigns.mabelslabels.com  This Canadian company has the best labels on the planet.

Pray for Snow!
